I wasn't all that happy with the conclusion of the book. A lot was thrown into the plot in the last few chapters, almost hard to handle. Plus, the way things turned out with the family wasn't anything i expected, and left me hanging in the end. I recommend reading book if you enjoy fiction that resembles the lives of people today, with lots of drama and suspense. Here is a little summary of the last few chapters, but i won't give up the ending...
After Daniel was accused for the murder of Jason Underhill, and found innocent, Trixie was next for the blame. But before she could be interrogated, she made a run for it. Bartholemew was hoping to get a blood test, with the evidence found at the crime scene, but she had left with no trace of where she was going. Daniel was pretty sure however where she was headed. His home town in Alaska. Trixie reached Bethel, Alaska, where a 300K dog sledding race was amidst. She was mistaken for a director and had to travel 53 miles to a different town with a native boy. She bonded with the boy more than anyone she could remember, and by the time they reached Tallaksak she had seemingly made a new friend. However, she had a difficult time pretending to be "Andi", a director who worked with the mushers coming in to the pitstop during the race. Meanwhile, Daniel and Laura were already heading to Alaska, while Bartholemew worked hard to try and prove Trixie a suspect. Trixie began spending more time with the native boy, Willie, and felt for the first time comfortable again with a different sex. Daniel and Laura were making their way closer to Trixie, but eventually had to split. Laura waited for Daniel to make the 53 mile trip because Daniel felt it was too dangerous to continue together. When Daniel reached Trixie, the whole world seemed to stop. Daniel didn't care one bit if Trixie had killed Jason, he would do anything to save her now that she was back in his arms. She admitted to lying, but not for Jason's death. As they were heading back to where Laura awaited, so were the police. If Trixie didn't kill Jason, who did? and what will the cops decide?

When Trixie was no where to be found, Daniel immediately called Laura at the office. The two searched all over town until finally they found Trixie staring at her reflection at the town's bank. Meanwhile, Jason had ran far away to a bridge overlooking the main river in Bethel, Maine. He stared down at the water, wondering if it had frozen over all the way. His whole life had turned around in such short notice, going from all star hockey player with a major career ahead of him, to being put on trial for rape. The next morning news spread fast through town that Jason Underhill had committed suicide.
Everyone in Bethel was mourning over the death of Jason Underhill. The town thankfully acknowledged the athlete's accomplishments, but the family and Trixie especially were devestated; Trixie turned to a razor to let out her emotions, and Jason's mother couldn't seem to get out of bed. Despite this, work in the morgue had discovered things on Jason's body that didn't connect to a suicide. Dectective Bartholemew worked extensively with Anjali, a doctor working on Jason's case. She uncovered things such as bruising on the face in areas not likely to have been hit by the fall, and discoloring in the stomach, suggesting a fight had taken place moments before the so called "suicide." Bartholemew took this evidence to his advantage and went to question Daniel himself. Although Trixie didn't have much to worry about anymore dealing with the rape incident, Daniel was in for a whole new treat.

Now that Trixie was feeling better after the suicide attempt, things at home were becoming brighter. She had the time to hang with Zephyr, and catch up on things she missed doing, like reading a gossip magazine. However, some things weren't so exciting.
Trixie now had to go everywhere with her father, never to be left alone. When Daniel needed to go get some cheese for the pizza, Trixie had to tag along. She didn't mind too much, until when they drove into town she realized it was Winterfest, the biggest holiday celebration in Bethel, Maine. She sunk into the passenger seat, and wished she could be invisible. When Daniel reached the parking lot, he let Trixie wait in the car. When Daniel left however, Trixie was terrified. She felt so alone, and needed her father. It seemed like getting a bag of cheese was taking hours. Finally, she decided to get out of the car, sprinting for the entrance when she ran straight into Jason Underhill. He saved her from falling, but when he realized who it was, he shouted at her for ruining his life. He told her to the the truth about everything but before he could say anything more Daniel was pounding on his face. Trixie fled back to the car, horrified by the man who she thought was her father. They fought for awhile, and Trixie could not stand to watch. When a car approached, Jason ran, and Daniel made sure Jason knew he would kill him if he set foot next to his daughter again. But when he reached the car, Trixie was gone
This book is so suspenseful! last blog, I uncovered that Daniel had been waiting in Jason's car after practice, and now things are getting intense!
When Jason starts the car, Daniel immediately pulls a knife to Jason's neck. From there, Jason drives to a bog near a river, where Daniel torments Jason to get back at everything he had done. The old Daniel is uncovered, and before Daniel has the nerve to kill Jason, reality hits. Daniel threatens Jason to never tell, and leaves him without another word. Back at the hospital, Trixie lie asleep as Laura watched her carefully.
The next day, Trixie returns home from the hospital to find Zephyr waiting. Zephyr had heard about the accident, and had come to apologize. They had both missed their best friends. Later that day, the family went to see Marita Soorenstad, the District Attorney. From her clues, she concludes that Trixie is lying. However, when Trixie admits to her lies, and spills of how she doesn't remember much from the night, Bartholemew and Marita decide to test for a date rape drug that could've put Trixie unconscious.
Ketamine was the drug found in Trixies blood, and would be used against Jason in trial. Things were looking better for Trixie, but still not perfect
Since I have spent so much time on Trixie's problems, I thought i would start this post with Jason Underhill, and the stress he is facing after being accused of rape. Jason is still himself traumatized from the whole scandal, and turns to hockey to escape the mess moving around him. He wishes things would go back to normal, or that he could just start his college hockey career now instead of wasting his time in Bethel, Maine. Especially with the new word at school that Trixie has attempted suicide, Jason just wants to run away.
After the picture incident, Trixie has lost control. One night, she sunk into her bathroom, and cut even deeper than before. If it hadn't been for her mother coming home early, Trixie would've been found dead. Laura rushed her to the hospital, where Daniel sat waiting. He was furious when he heard the news of the picture getting out, and decided from their he had to do something. If it hadn't been for Jason Underhill, none of this would have ever happened. The boys hockey practice would be ending soon, so he left the hospital and headed for the parking lot. When Jason reached the car, Daniel was already inside.

I know its been awhile since i last blogged, but i am back! The Tenth Circle has kept me occupied over the long winter break!
If you can remember, Trixie is having a hard time getting her life back to normal. Her best friend has left her side, and all the kids in school are too afraid to say anything to her, as if she might go crazy. Meanwhile, at home, Laura and Daniel are trying to get through everything alongside the horrific rape incident, like their marriage. Also, Detective Bartholemew is beginning to investigate deeper into the rape case. He interviews Zephyr and Moss, who fail to give him any important information. However, Trixie, seeing Janice, the sexual assualt advocate, spills things that are said to be "confidential." The family soon finds that the information told about the cuts on her arm not being from Jason will be used against her in court. To make matters worse, Moss, Jason's best friend, hacks into the schools computers and sends out the picture taken that night of Trixie half naked. Back at school, Trixie is mortified when she can't escape the computer screens with her face staring back at her. A line at the end of the chapter writes "The first frantic fall didn't hurt nearly as much as getting back on your feet afterward."
